ventnor and the island
Seasalt Cottage is in the perfect location to explore Ventnor and the rest of the island. Located just off the high street but set within a quiet mews courtyard, you really do get the best of both worlds. Less than a 5 minute walk to Ventnor beach and within stumbling distance of all of Ventnor's lovely restaurants and cafes.
Ventnor has so much to see and do that you could easily park your car and spend the whole week on foot enjoying the wonderful beaches and restaurants. Ventnor is situated on the South of the island and has it's own microclimate as it's surrounded by cliffs...so it's generally a few degrees warmer than the mainland which is always a bonus!
The rest of the island is just waiting to be explored too...with over half of the Isle of Wight designated as an area of outstanding beauty, there are stunning spots at every turn!
From the famous Needles on the West coast, the stunning Osbourne House in the North to the lovely sailing village of Bembridge in the East, there really is something for everyone.

FOR RELAXING
The island is an action seekers playground! The Isle of Wight recently scooped top spot in Lonely Planet's 'Top World Cycling Routes.'
With over 500 miles of cycle and bridleways weaving their way through dramatic and contrasting island landscapes, it's a year round paradise for cyclists, hikers and horse riders.
There is also the water to explore, so whether you want to try your hand at paddle-boarding, sailing, deep-sea fishing or surfing, you literally have it all at your fingertips.
FOR ACTION SEEKERS
As you have probably heard, the island is the perfect place for a family holiday. It really is the best place to create wonderful childhood memories (and I have lots of my own from holidays on the island as a child!)
From rock-pooling at Steephill Cove, taking the exhilarating chairlift down to the Needles, having fun at Blackgang Chine, fossil-hunting at Compton Beach, fishing from a boat near Ventnor, crazy golf at Sandown Pier or just enjoying the many beaches the island has, your children will think it's the best holiday ever!
If you want to relax and unwind Ventnor is the perfect location. Ventnor has been known for its therapeutic air since the Victorian times when it was a fashionable spa resort.
There are so many beautiful spots to sit and take in the sea air whilst enjoying the stunning views.
For the ultimate pampering, treat yourself to a massage at the stylish Cabin beauty salon (a short walk away) which has treatment rooms overlooking the sea.
One of our favourite things to do on holiday is discover lots of gorgeous places to eat and drink. You are spoilt for choice in Ventnor!
With the cosy Cantina a 2 min walk away from the cottage (which was recently named by the Guardian as one of the top 10 places in the UK to enjoy brunch), lots of great bars and restaurants on the Esplanade, the famous Ventnor Haven Fishery and the amazing Boathouse Seafood restaurant (book ahead!) You could eat somewhere different every day and still have more to discover!
