Who owns Seasalt Cottage?

Can we bring our baby/children?

Of course! Babies and children of all ages are welcome. There is a high chair and cot available if you require and older children will love the board games, smart TV and selection of books on offer. The Isle of Wight is the perfect location for a wonderful family holiday.

Can we bring our dog?

Yes, our dog comes along with us when we stay at Seasalt, we know how they are part of the family! We allow one well-behaved dog to stay with you in the cottage and just ask that they don't go upstairs or on the furniture.

We just want to stay for 3/4 days, is that possible?

We currently only rent Seasalt Cottage out for 7 days minimum. Of course you can stay for a a shorter time than 7 days but the cost will be the same as 7 days.

How do we get to the Isle of Wight?

You get the ferry from the mainland from either Portsmouth or Southampton. Seasalt Cottage is a 35 minute drive from Fishbourne (where the Portsmouth ferry comes into) and 45 minutes from Yarmouth (from the Southampton ferry). The ferry takes around 40 minutes and is a very pleasurable start to your holiday with sun terraces and cafes on board. If you get one of the new ferries you'll even find soft play and x-box on board for the kids too! We advise booking your ferry crossings as early as you can as it tends to get more expensive the later you do it.

Is there enough to do on the Isle of Wight for a week?

Absolutely! You could stay here for months and still have more to discover! It only takes an hour to drive from one end of the island to the other, so it's easy to get around. But the island is full of exciting things to do whether you're a young family, a thrill seeker or a couple in search of a romantic break. You'll be spoilt for choice!

What time is arrival and departure?

Arrival is any time from 4pm on a Saturday and you need to depart the cottage by 10.30am on the following Saturday.  We know you'll be reluctant to leave but we have to make the cottage perfect for the next guests!

Is there parking available?

You can drive into the courtyard to unload your luggage, then drive to the nearby long stay car park which is a 2 minute walk from the cottage. We will send you parking permit details in advance of your stay. You can purchase a 7 day permit for around £50 and that is valid at tourist car parks across the island.

This is us, Vicki and Karl and our 2 boys. We bought Seasalt Cottage in Dec 2016 after falling in love with Ventnor and the island. We lovingly refurbished the cottage in early 2017 and styled it in the way we love to provide you with a gorgeous base to relax and explore the island. We care about the experience you have in Seasalt Cottage and will do everything we can to make it a holiday you will love!
